Can you give me legal advice?

No. I cannot provide any legal advice. For any changes in regard to the way your divorce goes should be consulted with your lawyer.

An attorney is expensive, why should I also pay for a divorce coach?

Attorney fees are costly. On average, an hour of attorney help costs between $300-$600 per hour. A divorce coach's rates are much lower, so a client is able to accomplish a great deal for considerably less, and usually at more than half the rate of an attorney. Additionally, a divorce coach is helpful in areas, whereas an attorney may not be. A divorce coach helps you not only with the practical side of a divorce, but also the emotional side - something attorney do not do. The result of utilizing a divorce coach is a much more cost effective and efficient process.

What is the difference between divorce coaching and therapy?

Therapy involves analyzing the past with a client to discover why certain behaviors occur in order to heal a situation. Therapy also deals in diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.
Divorce coaching is focused on what is going on now, the nearest future and goal oriented. While a therapist may provide emotional support with the current situation, not a lot of therapists are familiar with the divorce process itself from the practical point of view.

Will you accompany me to meet with my attorney or to a mediation?

Yes, Marina is able to join you in meetings with your attorney with the agreement between all sides (marina, the client, and the attorney). I am able to join my clients in mediations, but only if this is allowed by the opposing party and mediatiator.

Do you speak languages other than English?

I can provide services in English and in Russian. I can also offer my services as a Russian interpreter in mediations (for an additional fee). Since I am not a court certified interpreter, I am unable to serve as an interpreter in court.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

I’ve been working with Marina for almost 2 years. I am going through a high-conflict divorce that’s been taking a long time. With the divorce lasting this long, it was extremely helpful to work with Marina, who supported me all the way. Her emotional support literally saved me from falling into a depression. She helped me to find my power and work on restoring myself to who I was before the marriage. I have grown with her as a person and as a woman.
